When thought takes flight

Updated: Jan 27

Join us for a night of philosophy as we explore explore Millennium Gallery after dark...

Museums and galleries are full of artefacts that spark curiosity and invite conversation. They're also public places where people with different perspectives and life experiences share the same space. But it isn't always easy to strike up a conversation with a stranger, so most of the time, our thoughts are muted and we take them home with us, unsaid.

This stimulating new event, hosted by Sheffield Museums, will be full of strangers (and friends) sharing ideas. The evening will feature an array of fun and friendly hands-on activities and interactive philosophical discussions, alongside a pay bar.

With the support of experienced philosophical facilitators from Think Together Sheffield, explore themes including creativity, freedom, and happiness, and their connections to the galleries' art and design exhibitions. You’ll get the chance to ask big questions, talk in-depth, consider new perspectives, add to a collaborative artwork, and have your photo taken in our pop-up philosophical photo booth. It’s a whole new way to experience the gallery and get a different perspective on art and life.

This FREE event takes place on Thursday 8 February 2024,  19.00 to 22.00, Millennium Gallery 48 Arundel Gate City Centre Sheffield S1 2PP All are welcome, and no experience is required.
